It is unsurprising that Elizabeth Humphreys has established herself as a designer in her own right. With historic origins in the wilds of rural Northumberland, descended from a highly respected family of builders, who launched their own eponymous firm in 1912, there is no doubt that the fine art of construction courses through her very veins.

Though in her formative years, she was more interested in horses than bricks and mortar, she studied horse management before succumbing to entering the family business. It was here that she truly honed the art of bespoke design, working closely with her family through every aspect of the construction process. From primary architectural plans, to the physical construction and final property sales, these processes would later transfer effortlessly to her new life as a bespoke designer of luxury men's and women's accessories and leather goods.

A unique and personable woman of many talents, her innate practicality and willingness to get her hands dirty, had always been at odds with her unabashed femininity and passion for bags and shoes. The embodiment of the modern working woman, she is multifaceted and switches between roles with ease, just like the customer she designs for. Equally at home mucking out stables and tending to her many animals and as she indulging her love for fashion, jewellery and accessories, it is these contradictions that form the basis of her design aesthetic. Practical yet decadent, demure yet flamboyant, her designs are as full of surprise as she is, and this is her point of difference.

Spotting a gap in the market for bespoke men and women's accessories and leather goods, that were genuinely special; With a consumption of accessories that would give Imelda Marcos a run for her money, she knew instinctively that she could produce something unique, quirky and of superior quality, products that she had difficultly sourcing from even the most prestigious of Northumberland's retail destinations. Her mission was to create pieces so precious that their owners would want to pass them on, mother to daughter, father to son,  but also with a very usable practical nature.
